Rosemary's Baby

Writers: Ira Levin (novel), Roman Polanski (screenplay)
Director: Roman Polanski
Released: 1968
Labels: Religious|Supernatural

Another classic horror flick, Rosemary's Baby, is not a film about head twisting, body jolting, crucifix masturbation of a demon possession (The Exorcist), but rather the subtle lure and manipulation of a young woman into the world of a religious cult and eventual birth of the Devil's son.

While watching this feature, you become engrossed and convinced that you are witnessing some sort of conspiracy. Rosemary Woodhouse (played by the meek Mia Farrow) is nothing but a normal girl with an egocentric husband, Guy (portrayed by John Cassavetes), and overly nosey neighbors, Roman (Sidney Blackmer) and Minnie (Ruth Gordon).  To add to the already much eerie atmosphere, this film takes place residing in the all so famous apartment building, The Dakota
(located in the Upper West Side of New York City). Rosemary and her expectant child are without a doubt the center of everyone's attention, but with great artistic subtlety, the ultimate evil hidden agenda is not revealed until the very end.

  1. Film is a very young art that is still evolving. Soon, we shall reach a balance between content and technology.
